Pneumatic Fender

 

Many companies have been associated with us of all types of rubber fender, including pneumatic fender.These fender are manufactured as per ISO 17357:2002.

ISO 17357:2002 specifies the material, performance and dimensions of high-pressure floating pneumatic rubber fenders, which are intended to be used for the berthing and mooring of a ship to another ship or berthing structure. It also specifies the test and inspection procedures for high-pressure floating pneumatic rubber fenders.

ISO 17357:2002 does not address any safety hazards associated with its use. It is the user"s responsibility to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations before using this standard.

When mooring under rough weather conditions, a ship is subjected to wave action, especially to swell,causing the ship to be moved up and down, back and forth and left to right at the quay. Pneumatic fenders allow gentle initial contact with a gradual increase of reaction force and large allowable deflection, meaning ships and mooring facilities are protected even under rough weather conditions. In light of these advantages, quite a few deep-water ports and large open-sea loading facilities employ these types of pneumatic fenders

 

 

The purpose of the fendering system is to serve as a bumper to protect the hull and berthing facility from damage when vessels berth alongside.Anther function is to operate as a shock absorber by absorbing the berthing energy of a vessel on the berthing impact to the berth and hull.Therefore the two main functions of the fendering system are:

1)To perform as a bumper to protect the hull and berthing facility from damage.

 

2)To perform as a shock absorber on the berthing operation.

Marine airbags are unique Chinese marine products and often called ship launching airbags that indicate the most popular application of these heavy duty airbags is for ship launching. In the beginning, only small and flat bottom ships located on a fabricated slope could be launched with marine airbags. Now this technology is more flexible and less limited by the ship and landform. The DWT of launched ship reached 55,000 and launching ramp can be flat. Not only for ship launching marine airbags are widely used for heavy conveying also. Marine airbags contributed much to the success of famous Nanhai No.1 ancient ship salvage project. The 4,800 tons cassion which hold the invaluable ancient ship landed from the semi-submersible barge and transported to the museum named Crystal Palace riding on 16 pieces marine airbags.
